School Structure - Online Live Class Model

School Hours

  • 8:00 – 1:00 for 1st and 2nd grade
  • 8:00 – 1:30 for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade

 

 

  • The day will begin with the morning message/duas.
  • Each class period will be 40 minutes with short breaks in between.
  • Daily interactive live sessions with the teachers Mon-Thurs
  • Assigned readings/practice work throughout the week.
  • The school year will be 180 days.
  • Most school holidays will coincide with public school holidays.

Islamic Education

8:00 – 8:50

  • Morning message & duas
  • Quran 2 times weekly/ Islamic St. 3 times weekly

Core Courses

8:55 – 12:10

  • Math
  • 10 min break
  • Language Arts
  • Social Studies (twice a week for 1st and 2nd)
  • 20 min Lunch/Snack break
  • Period 5 Science (twice a week for 1st and 2nd)

Elective Courses

12:15 – 1:30

  • Electives (P.E. and one other twice a week each)

New Student-Teacher-Parent Engagement

Student

  • Students will attend their daily live sessions where they will interact with the teacher and other students.

  • The teachers will conduct daily video sessions using a variety of resources

  • Parents are urged to take their child to the library, masjid, YMCA, sports hub, and other social settings.
  • Enhanced engagement during the morning school hours and evening after-school activities.

Quran

  • Learning to read & recite with proper tajweed
  • Memorization of surahs (30th Juz)
  • Selected vocabulary and tafseer

Islamic Studies

  • Grade appropriate, comprehensive curriculum which will give students a thorough understanding of Islam and its values to shape them into morally and socially responsible citizens
  • Subject areas include, but are not limited to, Aqeedah, Islamic History, Hadith, Sunnah/Etiquettes, and Duas
(No specific School of Thought)
  • Teachers will be qualified in their subject areas.
  • Core area teachers will have at least a bachelor’s degree and teaching experience
  • Quran teachers ( Hafiz/Qari trained in proper tajweed) with teaching experience
  • Language teachers (native speakers with teaching experience)
All curriculum will be provided by the school to ensure quality education.

Grade Pre-K-5 - National Curriculum Model

  • Based on the Common Core Standards
  • Project based learning paired with Reading & Writing workshops
  • Reading and writing integrated into all subject areas
  • Differentiated Instruction/model combining schoolwork and tutoring that will cater to individual needs
  • Goal is to have all students performing above their grade level
